Site 27: High Stones (27a)
The megalithic grave called High Stones is situated in the woods outside Wildeshausen just of the main road from Wildeshausen to Ahlhorn. The site is very well preserved and has massive capstones. The grave chamber is an extraordinary 17 metres long and the grave enclosure is in parts extant. Judging by findings the place has been used for secondary burials.
Site 27: Bargeloy Stone Cist (27b)
To the west of Wildeshausen, just outside Bargeloy village situated on a hill is an archaeological site that stands out from the other megalithic graves along the Route of Megalithic Culture. A cavity 2 x 1.5 metres in size composed of five orthostats and one capstone. This is a rare stone cist designed for individual burials only.
